Willenhall based lock manufacturer ERA which employs over 350 people has kick-started its annual fundraising in aid of The Sick Children’s Trust with the intention of raising £10,000 in 2015. 35 employees from the firm’s offices on Straight Road in Willenhall geared up to raise over £1000 at its recent go-karting event.
ERA’s chosen charity, The Sick Children’s Trust, was set up over 30 years ago, providing free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, as well as emotional and practical support, at leading children’s hospitals throughout the UK with the clear aim of keeping families together while children undergo lifesaving treatment.
ERA HR business partner Clare Hopkins comments on the fundraising effort: “teams across the business have really got behind this year’s charity initiative and we’re off to a fantastic start in our efforts to achieve the £10,000 target. Crucially we asked employees to vote from a selection of charities and The Sick Children’s Trust resonated most with our colleagues which is clearly reflected in the enthusiasm of our team to reach the target.”
